Excavator Tandem Lifting
Course Information
Pre-requisites
- Must be a minimum age of 18.
- Most hold valid sentinel track Safety Card endorsed with PTS.
- Must meet medical requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L2/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 2.
- Must have a goof level of literacy to meet Entry Qualifications.
- Must Meet the requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
- Must hold Crane Controller Excavator Crane Competence and evidence at least 120 hours documented experience as a single lift Crane Controller.
Primary Objectives
At the end of the training the delegate will be able to:
- Describe how the Crane is designed to function under tandem lift conditions.
- Describe what equipment calibration certificates and checks are required to comply with the
- relevant rules and regulations.
- Avoid the Cranes being placed in an unstable condition.
- Demonstrate their ability to read a work / Lift plan and communicate its content effectively.
- Correctly attach and use the lifting accessories to ensure a safe lift
- Control the movement of the Cranes taking into account:
- Condition of the track
- Cant
- Gradient
- Load height & Radius
- Machine Sectors
- Describe what information needs to be given to the Driver/Operator and how to confirm the Driver/Operator understands the extent of the movement / lift.
