Course Information


Pre-requisites

  1. Must hold current and valid PTS - Personal Track Safety
  2. Meet the medical requirements of Network Rai lStandard NR/L2/OHS/00124: Competence Specific Medical Requirements.
  3. Must Meet the requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
  4. OTP Core - On Track Plant Core.
  5. Compatible host Machine Controller competence.

Primary Objectives

At the end of the training the delegate will be able to:

  • Describe how the Chipper is designed to function under normal operating conditions.
  • Describe what equipment calibration certificates and checks are required to comply with the relevant rules and regulations.
  • Avoid the Chipper being placed in an unsafe or unstable condition.
  • Correctly controll the use of the chipper
  • Control the movement of the host machine taking into account:
    • Condition of the track
    • Cant
    • Gradient
    • Exclusion Zones
    • Possession Arrangements
  • Describe what information needs to be given to the Driver/Operator and how to confirm the
    Driver/Operator understands the extent of the movement/work.
