Pre-requisites
- You must have the passed the relevant CITB Health and Safety Test within 2 years of the CPCS test.
Primary Objectives -
To provide thorough theory and practical training in the operation of Rough Terrain Masted Forklifts. Course will include:
- Naming and explaining the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
- Conforming to manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook,
- Other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation
- Pre-use checks
- Configuring machine ready travel
- Traveling over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces
- Maneuvering in confined spaces
- Configure and set for lifting and transferring duties
- Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
- Lift and remove various loads up to the full working height of the forklift
- Transfer and place loads accurately at given locations
- Place and remove loads from a vehicle
- Maintain safe working situations
- Maintain safe and tidy working areas
- Carrying out shut down and securing procedures
- Explaining the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
