Pre-requisites

  1. You must have the passed the relevant CITB Health and Safety Test within 2 years of the CPCS test.

Primary Objectives -

To provide thorough theory and practical training in the operation of Rough Terrain Masted Forklifts. Course will include:

  • Naming and explaining the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
  • Conforming to manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook,
  • Other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation
  • Pre-use checks
  • Configuring machine ready travel
  • Traveling over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces
  • Maneuvering in confined spaces
  • Configure and set for lifting and transferring duties
  • Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
  • Lift and remove various loads up to the full working height of the forklift
  • Transfer and place loads accurately at given locations
  • Place and remove loads from a vehicle
  • Maintain safe working situations
  • Maintain safe and tidy working areas
  • Carrying out shut down and securing procedures
  • Explaining the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
