Pre-requisites
- You must have the passed the relevant CITB Health and Safety Test within 2 years of the CPCS test.
Primary Objectives -
To provide thorough theory and practical training in the operation of Wheeled Loading Shovel. Course will include:
- Naming and explaining the purpose of principal components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
- Conforming to manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, Other types of information source and relevant regulations and legislation
- Pre-use checks
- Configuring machine ready for site and highway travel
- Traveling over rough, undulating ground, steep inclines and level surfaces
- Maneuvering in confined spaces
- Configuring and set-up for extraction and loading duties
- Explaining actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
- Extract differing types of materials from stockpiles and other sources
- Form stockpiles of segregated materials and construct (temporary) ramps
- Sort and place materials into transporting vehicles and hoppers
- Spread and level ground and materials
- Carry out shut down and securing procedures
- Explain the loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
