Lift Planning Single Lift
Course Information
Pre-requisites
- Must be a minimum age of 18.
- Have a good level of literacy.
- Have a good understanding of mathematical skill (equivalemt to basic GCSE level)
- Have good working knowledge of excel and word.
- Have passed the pre-course assessment and be able to demonstrate this to the trainer;
- Have read the lift planning appreciation presentation
- Must hold a valid PTS.
- Meet the medical requirements of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/00124 Medical Fitness Level 4.
- Must Meet the requiremments of Network Rail Standard NR/L1/OHS/051 (Drugs & Alcohol).
Before any training takes place delegates will be required to successfully complete the OTP Lift Planning– Single Lift pre-course assessment. If the delegate is unsuccessful during this pre-course assessment delegates will not be permitted to continue into further stages of training. Delegates will be able to reapply for training at a later stage once they are confident that they will be able to successfully complete the pre-course assessment again.

- Legislation & Network Rail Standards
- Crane controller information
- Definitions
- Examples of OTP Cranes and boom configuration.
- Stability and Uneven Loads
- Lifting Points, Accessories and Working Radius
- Rated Capacity Indicator Information & Duty Charts and Planning Tools
- Knuckle Boom Cranes
- Hazards associated with planning and control of OTP
- Preparation for Planning lifts
Additionally the delegate will be able to plan, create and undertake a practical OTP single lift planning exercise.
Additional content has been added to this training plan identifying the most relevant Life Saving Rules and Non Technical Skills to the activity of OTP Lift Planning for Single Lifting Operations. The full detail of the most prevalent non technical capabilities which delegates should be encouraged to develop, discretely through delivery/discussion/facilitation is found in the header slide trainers notes of each session of the accompanying PowerPoint.
